1955 was a year of scare for the United States. With the threat of not being able to stop communism and the race to stock as many nuclear weapons as possible, the United States went through social problems as well as economic growth. In 1955 the Cold War was becoming more and more of a problem for the United States.

While the United States was getting increasingly worried about the spread of the Soviet empire, the Soviets were making more progress. With the Warsaw pact the Soviet Union made its alliance with the communist nations, just like the United States made their alliances in NATO.
