He initiated the Truman Doctrine and attempted to give aid to Greece, which was threatened by communist insurrection, and to Turkey, which is under pressure from Soviet Expansion. He is Harry S. Truman, the thirty-third president of the United states. He played an important role in influencing how the United States would react to Stalin and the Soviet Union.

 

He was called a power-hungry man, this is Josef Vissarionovich Stalin. He was accused as trying to control all of Eastern Europe alone. He sparked fear in anyone who seemed to go against him, including the United States. Sibley in her book, The Cold War, states that, "His actions drew the Western allies together and threatened fellow communist leaders like Tito of Yugoslavia."
