D = inconsistent attendance, distracting
oneself and others from in-class work
The midterm and
final exam are closed-book, in-class exams.
Study guides will be distributed prior to each exam. Exams are a mix of multiple-choice, short
answer, and essay questions.
Late assignments will be penalized 1/3 of a grade per day that they are late, unless you have made prior arrangements with me based on a valid excuse. Because I care about your writing skills, spelling and grammar count toward your grade.
Please read class assignments carefully. Because of the number of students and assignments in this class, it will not be possible for you to re-do your work once it has been submitted.
Doing non-class related work on the computers during
class time tells me that you don't want to be here. Thus, if you are
doing this, I'll ask you to leave and go wherever you'd really like to
be.
Your final grade for the course is based on a 1000
point total. I reserve the right to raise or lower your final grade
based on your class attendance, participation, ability to get
assignments in on time, etc.

of “F” for the course. In addition, a student found guilty of a
dishonest act may be subject to sanctions, up to and including
dismissal from the University, as a result of the student judicial
process as described in the Student Handbook. A student who violates
copyright laws, including those covering the copying of software
programs, or who knowingly alters official academic records from this
or any other institution is subject to similar disciplinary action."
Additional explanation of how to observe academic integrity is
included on relevant assignments for this course.
